sight advice sought

due to vision problem with my right eye I'm having trouble with aiming and iron sights are mostly out, even a scope I have minor problem with. it's a 'very large floater' in my eye. one of my carbine I have a 2X red dot on and it does OK. does anyone have feedback on the ghost ring type of rear sight? sort of a 'peep' it is. I've never seen one of the holographic type sights and wonder about the weather-worthyness. interested in sights for say out to 150 yds. practical deer range. I suppose my long-range shooting is mostly over, used to be eagle-eye shot with my '06 and .22's. hate to be limited to shotgun with iridium sights, or some such.

the eotech is very sturdy and so is the aimpoint. they can take more abuse than traditional scopes, and are quite water resistant if that is what your looking for. the eotech can have it's lens broken or covered in mud and it still works.

are you saying that you are right eye dominant but with you present vision problems you have to use you left eye for sighting. I can see how this would be a problem for rifle.
