130 Lead 9MM WST

I am looking for 130 Lead WST Load data. I have found some for 125 lead but it does not do well with the 130's, they key hole at 15-20 yards.

125 vs 130 grains is close enough. Don't go straight to max or anything like that but certainly starting loads would be safe assuming same bullet profile.

Keyholing at those distances probably aren't load problems.

Bullet is not the problem. It's sized at .3565. I have shot many of my old 124 sized to the same size no problem. There is no current published data for 9 with wst.

Maybe the 130s have flaws enough to cause the unstable condition.
It wouldn't be the first time badly made cast bullets were the reason for inaccuracies.
Where did you get them?

I made them with a noe hp mold. They are better bullets than the ones I made with Lee molds that shoot fine with the same data

Using 125 or 135 data should not have that great of an effect. Try increasing your OAL

But are they?
The ones from the Lee mold shoot good, but the ones from your present mold don't.
That might be the variable and clue you are looking for.
Just for laughs, how about cutting open some of the 130s and see what's what inside that might be causing the instability.
Like voids or irregularities in the composition, for example.
Or maybe it's just due to the bullet design.
Just a thought.

Size them a bit larger. Some of the more heavy bullets need more bite into the grooves. If your byllet is a hollow point then the bearing surface is likely to be greater. Also some sub compact guns do it more than others. My cougar shoots 125 grain cast like laser beams, my PF 9 won't. It key holes them, and they are over sized. I just chalk it up to it just does that.

There's no 9mm WST data on Hodgdon's site at all. There is a lot of discussion on the assorted forums though. Mostly about jacketed vs cast bullets.
One of those discussions back in 2010 was local.
