124gr 9mm suggestions
I have 1000 frontier 124gr 9mm bullets I want to load up for shooting steel. I have been loading the 115 berrys with 5.2gr of Unique @ 1.125oal and it has been perfect in my XD Tactical but I'm out of those now. I really like the unique powder in the 9mm But I also have win 231, vit 320, titegroup, and bullseye. Lets hear some suggestions. thx

I've used 4.0 gr. of 231 in the past with 124 gr. bullets (both lead and jacketed/plated) and it has worked well for me. They clocked in at around 1050 fps for lead and 990-ish for the plated (Montana Gold) bullets. It's a pretty light load, but then I don't need to make a power factor, either. OAL=1.125".
I like 231 because it meters well, too. Hope that helps. Cheers! McClintock Disclaimer: This is a load that works in MY handgun... USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I started with unique in 9mm now use 3.8 gr of 700x. Excellent recoil and accuracy. A lot cleaner than 231 IMO

Use 4.0 of W231 with 125g cast bullet 1.125 Cola works well in my guns. Tried to go down to 3.7 of W231 but my Beretta wouldn't shoot them And didn't want to make two different reloads so stayed with 4.0

3.9 grains of Bulleye is a nice load that works consistently well in my two 9mms. This is considered to be in "starting load" territory.
