My Name is ___________

And I am addicted to reloading.

I was just putting together some loads for my new 300 win mag and not only do I not have scope for it yet, but I would not even have time to shoot them since I am trying to finish up my student teaching. I just could not help my self. Not only that but I went ahead and loaded up some of my free Hornady bullets for my 308. The sad thing is that by the time I know which load works the best, I will be out of bullets and powder. But if I ever decide I want to load some 150 grainers again I guess I will know what works.

I am trying to get where I only have one bullet for the 308 and the 300 win mag and only one powder for each. I am hoping that the 300 likes a a165 grain bullet according to Hornady's book I will still need two different powders.

The .300 Win Mag was built to launch 180s. Give it what it was born to do!

I think I will try some 165 grain Inter Bonds in both rifles, right now my 308 is shooting a 165 grain BTSP from Speer really well. But I am going to try the Hornady bullets so I will need to switch to Varget since Hornady does not list 4064 for the 165 grain bullets. I suspect that at least the 308 will shoot them well, and hope that the 300 will also. If not then oh well I will just have to keep two different boxes on hand.

It is only a problem if you start snorting gunpowder.

..... Hmm

... and you have or havent gotten to that point???!!!

That does sound bad.....unless you really have a bad sinus stopup....

...maybe just a little powder....stratigically placed.

No you’re not, otherwise you would be loading for 3 different 30 cal cartridges and have on hand 10 different bullets for those 3 guns.
And don’t even get me started on 22.
And if I do get started on 6mm we will be here all night.
I’m with Frankenmauser on the heavier bullets for the 300. Although I don’t load for the Win Mag I do for the 300 Remington mag for a friend and his likes the heavier bullets.
My 308’s like the mid 150’s to 160’s best.
Personally trying to get a magnum and a non magnum like the two you’re shooting with the same bullets might work but your taking away one of the main advantages of having the two.
The big question here is what are the two guns you’re shooting. Are both bolt or is one a semi (308)?

Both are Bolt, The 308 is a Marlin XS-7 and the 300 is a win Model 70. I hunt some pretty heavily wooded areas so the 300 plus yard shot will be really rare. I mostly Archery hunt, but during rifle season I will likely carry the 308 or my newly acquired Win model 92 in .444. The 300 will be for the odd times that I hunt an area capable of producing 300+ yard shots.

I'm addicted to making .45ACP and .30-06 rounds for the Garand. I never have time to go shoot them...I just make ammo. I wish oh wish there was a range nearby that wasn't run by turds...

I know what you mean. I had some free time so I loaded up like 1500 bullets. Now I'm annoyed that I don't have anything else to load for a month since that's how long it will take me to shoot all of it. Even though reloading is saving in terms of money per round it seems like I am spending more since all I do now is shoot more.
