CZ75 or 92FS
Looking for a 4.5 to 5 inch SA/DA pistol. I have a P07 and a Sig225 ... really like the SA/DA guns but wanting a full size gun.
Any experience with the longer slide models? Doing the online reviews of the CZ75 and 92FS. Can’t decide. Any experience with those or other models. Really want to stay with a hammer SA/DA tool. Thanks in advance to your thoughts. Tim |

Both are fine pistols but you really need to try both out and see what works best for you or at minimum handle, rack the slide, and dry fire each. I have a CZ SP01 and like it but it is not my favorite and one reason is that it does not fit my larger hand/fingers as well as other options. You might want to check out the HK P30L too now that they are priced at around $600 or under if you don't mind another poly frame DA/SA pistol. SIG P226 is really sweet too but those go for a couple hundred or so more new for plain Jane models.

Try both, but if it were me, I’d lean strongly toward the CZ. I can mix models with and without a safety, but don’t like mixing safeties that go two different directions.

Really good point. I’d probably run the FS with safety off and decocked. The sig and CZ I own have no safeties |

Good stuff... will research the HK. I think the Sig may be contender but your right it’s priced a tad high. |

Personally I think the decocker safety feature on the Beretta is kind of cool, and for me they point better, but that being said, it's the CZ that I bought. I haven't had any problems with it.

I almost bought a 92 inox, fondled it a time or 2, every time I fondled it I came back and held my cz 85 again. The grip is smaller on the cz in diameter.
I had a cz p07 as well. The 75 series is very similar in grip to the p07, so if you like the size and angle but want a heavier steel frame and a bit difference balance it is worth seeing how it feels. |

If you are already familiar with the P-07 but want a full size gun, why not look at the P-09?

I would try both and find out which one fits the hand. Personally, I bought both and sold the Beretta. It felt too big and not solid in the hand. The CZ is a real nice pistol. Of course this is all totally objective, one is not "better" than the other, depends on the operator and what feels right.

I would much rather have a 92 with G conversion and D hammer spring than any CZ.
The D spring makes the trigger nice and slick, thr G mod converts the safety into a decocker only. It's perfect. It's only bulky is you have tiny girl hands. |

I like my 92 inox and shoot it well but it is huge. The 92 is fat and the 75 is slender. Im sure it depends on your hand size as to which you would prefer.

I liked the Beretta 92 back in the day, was a great soft shooter, but it was very bulky for my medium sized mitts. It was quite accurate and reliable, even for being a range beater pistol. I prefer the fit and feel of the CZ-75 grip, myself, and have had great luck with CZ pistols.
If you like the P-07, have you laid a hand on the P-09? |

I've had both, wouldn't go back to either if I were spending my money. But if someone issued the Beretta to me I'd use it in complete confidence. I can't say the same about CZ. When CZ's were selling for $300-$350 they were a bargain. I wouldn't buy one at the prices they are asking today.
Both pistols were introduced at about the same time, 1972 for the Beretta, 1975 for the CZ. Both are dated designs with better options today. The CZ has a loyal internet following among those who play range games, not so much in the real world among people interested in a combat pistol. The Beretta is a little thick and big for what it is, the CZ's slide inside frame design makes the slide too thin and hard for me to get a grip on. While the Beretta is thicker, it is also lighter, has a better trigger and was far more reliable in my experience. Accuracy was about the same. For a traditional DA/SA all steel pistol I think the discontinued Smith 5906 series are hard to beat.

I like both the M92 and the CZ75. Could I only keep one, it would be the CZ. It feels better in the hand and points more naturally. M92 trigger is likely to be better out of the box, however.

There really isn’t a bad choice to be made between the Beretta and the CZ, I prefer my CZ but I know people who prefer their Berettas.
