Thanks. I know how Uplula works. With a bench and 2 free hands, it is fine. I gust find it funny that things like,e the b-l-t and the Caldwell never see the light of day despite being easier to use.

This is not a personal attack, just surprised that it is so wildly popular. That’s all. I get it. You like it, your friends like it, it comes in colors, etc.

But based on your comments above, you didn't. You were under the impression you would need multiple sizes "to cover 380-45 in double and single stsck".

I understand that you only have one hand, but would your opinion be different if you had two?

Because they aren't. 99.9% of user will find the Uplula easier and the market shows that.

The B-L-T is laughably S.......L.....O.....W.

Ive tried the Caldwell, it requires turning a knob to hold the mag in place EACH TIME. Nobody got time for that.

With an Uplula you insert the round, press down, repeat. I can load a 17 round Glock mag in under 20 seconds. The B-L-T requires you to place a round in each of seven slots. Then going through their four steps. With a 17 round Glock mag requires filling that tray three times.

I can't imagine the hours it would take to load 20 Glock magazines using the B-L-T.

Sure, I guess their writing is confusing….

https://www.maglula.com/product/uplula/

Has this been your experience? I think I was thrown off by them not saying it is for 380, then saying it works for most 380. Will it load the 2011?

Quote:
The UpLULA® loader does NOT load the following:
S&W 7rd 9mm SS for models 908, 3913, 3953 & 3954 (Beak too wide, does not enter between lips). It will load the S&W Shield magazine !
Glock G36 6rd .45 SS (Single Stack) (Beak will not retract from the mag.)
Glock G37, G38, G39 .45 G.A.P. mags (Beak will not retract from the mag.)
Kel Tec PMR-30 mags. we have a specific loader for it, click here
SMG magazines, for example: MP5, UZI, COLT 9, CZ Scorpion, SIG MPX, HK UMP, B&T APC, STEN mags.
Staccato 2011 9mm
Luger P08 (Parabellum) 9mm (The angle of the rounds in the mag is too steep)
Rounds longer than 33mm, like: 9×23 Win, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .357 Max., .41/.44 Rem. Mag., .44 S&W Special, .45 Colt, .45 Win Mag., .50AE.
May not load the last round in few types of mags.
Mags with less than 8.0mm between their lips.
As to the speed you speak of, it always seemed fast, but I never see anybody load fast with it. That said, I’m not seeing enough people use it. I’m glad it works for all of you so well.

Have you ever seen a 2 handed person drop ammo in the slots with one hand and load with the other? I think you might pull back on your slow phrase.

Went back and found the BLT video. Don't regret the Upula one bit. 7 rounds, then fill that up again? Not for me.

For a person with one hand or limited dexterity the BLT looks like the perfect tool and it certainly would have its appeal.

No, and I don't think you have seen it more often than a two handed person using an Uplula. The sales of the Uplula is easily 1,000X that of the B-L-T. So I'm pretty sure I'll never see one in use.

Prove me wrong.

If it were really like the bureaucrat thought, that a detachable magazine came loaded and was discarded when empty...

There are plenty of mags that are very hard to load with fingers only.

I find that just about every one of the loaders I've ever tried work just fine.

I had a Maglula once, and lost it somehow at some point.

The solid, non-hinged, versions that come with many handguns these days also work just fine for me.

If I were buying one though, Maglula it is. $35 in modern times... phhht... drive a pickup truck 100 miles, it costs that much.

I need a bright yellow Maglula next time so I don't lose it so easy.

One of those $150 electronic ones would be hilarious, but that's just nuts.

It is a mod that thins the width from the metal tounge on the loader, so it can also be used for 22 or in addition to the other calibers the loader will fit over.

I had a UpLula made that way for my Kadet and have one made for my M41.
Also a regular centerfire loader, one with single stack adapter and another I suspect is a counterfeit, the “tongue” is soft and has to be straightened periodically. It stays in my range bag in case I want to shoot more than I loaded at home.

My Maglula works great with just 2 hands. Good thing, that's all I have. My son bought me the Cadwell one, but it only works good on my Canik. Maglula works on all my pistols larger than 22

I use a lot of speed loaders and speed strips... no magazine loaders other than my fingers though.

Well, my grandson is only 2 mo. . . .He doesn't load much other than a diaper at this point!

I keep asking when he is ready to go to the basement!
