ATTN Max 100, other MOSSBERG people

Do you know of anyone that makes or modifies and sells mag tubes that fit flush in an 18.5" 500? It may be cheaper than getting another A1 and extension for my new project gun.

The barrel ring will have to be relocated higher up with a longer mag tube. I don't know anyone that makes one for that reason.

Sell the 500 if you don't like it the way it is. There is no need to spend a lot of extra money trying to change the mag tube setup on the standard 500 when you can purchase a 18.5" barrel 590A1.

mossberg 500 w/ 20" barrel

Mossberg makes a 500 with a 20" barrel with the 7 round factory mag (so that's 7+1)
You won't be able to switch our the barrel because of the position of the ring, but it puts the ring right at the end of the 20" barrel, hence the long factory mag
I got mine at Big 5 a couple months ago for about $270 + background check + taxes (plus some ammo, making it a total of about $312 out the door I think).
Screaming good deal and I'm very happy with it.
It's item no 50577 I think in the mossberg catalog

this is going to a pgo gun. The 20" is too long for that purpose imo. greast shoulder mounted, comical on a pgo. I'm going to have shell out the 3 or 400 smackers on a used or new 590a1, which still isn't a bad deal.

You can also get a Mossberg 20 inch bbl and 7 round mag tube for 150 bucks from Brownells. It has rifle sights with the rear being adjustable.Too bad it is One and a half inches too long, even though any benefit of a bbl that is 18.5 instead of twenty exists only in your fertile imagination

I feel it's too long for my pgo project but that's pretty cheap for that kind of a barrel and tube....gets me thinking of another project I wanted to do...20 inch 8-shot 500 w/ rifle sights on one of those wood stock sets you come across on Havlin, with nice deep fine custom rebluing on the receiver and maybe even over the new bluing on the barrel and tube. would be pretty for sure...
