Value of 308 ammo?

I was wondering, what's 1,000 rounds of 308 going for these days? I got a few crates of mil-surp I think it's either South African or Australian stuff. It's sealed up and in perfect shape. My buddy told me he's seen stuff like that selling for $350.00 in places. Has it really gone up that much? I'd appreciate any info guys. I'm probably gonna get rid of about 2 or 3 thousand rounds of the stuff locally to avoid shipping and I wanna make sure I set a good price that will get me the most money but make for a quick sell.

For current values, take a look at - http://www.gun-deals.com/

Plug in your zip to include approximate shipping.

Prices have started going down. I just paid .42 per round for 2000 rounds of mixed surplus from a local.

Both South African and Australian are good. The only disadvantage is Berdan priming. If you are interested in shipping you might net more than you would locally. Check the FAL Files marketplace.

If local is someplace near North Idaho I would be happy to talk to you.
