Hornady 9th edition shows starting charge for IMR 4046 is 29.3 gr. Max of 32.3 gr. Listed velocity is 1900 to 2100 fps.

By the way, this is the lowest max velocity in the 30-30 section. Other powders would be faster and possibly more consistent, but you should have decent results from 4064. If it doesn't do what you want it to try H335. It has worked well for me in 30-30.

I also checked the Hodgdon's website. It shows similar data. Check it out, makes a good double check on data from the powder supplier.

IMR 4064 will work fine. But, you may want to try Win 748. And a mag primer. This has worked well in my 30-30.

If you can get your hands on some Leverevolution powder you should . It lives up to advertisement. It’s ball powder so if you need it to meter well it will. It’s faster than the others at equal pressure, by 100 fps at least.
