Engraving on percussion revolver cylinders

Hey guys, hope someone can help. I would like to accent the cylinder scene on my Colt revolvers. Something like white or gold. Had a Ruger Bearcat one time with this type of finish and would like to do the same to my B.P. revolvers.

You can simply smear white or gold paint on the cylinder and wipe off the excess. Whether that will hold up depends on how much you fire the gun. If you are really into such decoration, you can have the scenes deepened and undercut, then silver or gold wire hammered in to create a permanent scene, but that will involve a lot of numbers on a check to a good engraver.
