Wahoo! I finally got the L1A1 I've wanted and at a nice price, too. It's an Australian version, unaltered military issue rifle. While cleaning it up I found some words written on the left side of the front handguard, "LIEW TOW TECK". I have no idea what that means. Could it be a place, an Asian girlfriend, or what?

It is scraped with a sharp instrument or maybe a pencil tip, probably by someone who's carried the rifle. If there is anyone out there who knows what it means, please tell me!

Thanks
Timo

Congrats on the FAL. No idea what it means. Sounds like someone "personalized" their weapon. All I know is that it's not factory. many Aussie L1A1s are from Lithgow. The first two words wouldn't be Lithgow actually by chance? Could then maybe have been an armorer's add-on.
