The SP-01 is a variant of the 75B.... I've seem some described as the 75B SP-01 Shadow. Ditto the P-01; it's sometimes called the 75B P-01, etc., etc.

I don't think there is a plain 75B "Shadow" model, just the 75B SP-01 Shadow...

Go under CZ Competition,

CZ75 SP-01 Shadow

I just remember a guy trying to sell his shadow for a mere 700 dollars and the buyer didn't know the difference and scoffed at the price.

There are several differences one of the main ones are the lack of the Firing Pin Block hence the lack of the 'B' on shadow models. It's a fantastic gun.

Walt there are actually 4 'Shadow' 75's that CZ offers in their standard line up.

CZ 75 Shadow
CZ 75 Shadow T
CZ 75 Shadow T-SA
and... my favorite
CZ 75 Shadow CTS LS-P

I have done LOTS of CZ research in finding my "perfect" model but it'll need to come from the custom shop and cost over 2k when its all said and done. Hence why I don't have it yet. Got my lady a PM9 first.

If he thought $700 was bad, he should see the Tactical Sport, or better yet the CzechMate (I love that name).

I've held the TacSport and the checkmate with the alternate barrel. Its really not a bad price for all the stuff you get... They both are AMAZING but the frame sizes are a bit larger then the regular CZ 75 which to my smallish hands is the deal breaker.

That's why I fell in love with the CZ 75 Shadow CTS LS-P it has the TacSport slide fit to a Shadow frame. Awesome!

The one con about the gun in question is that some people (me in particular) don't like the black epoxy-type finish. Although its durable, it is also IMHO ugly, I believe that they use that finish to hide imperfections in finishing the pistol - i.e. they don't have to polish it as much as a blued gun.

If you don't like the blue (black) polymer finish, CZ offers the CZ-75 in stainless steel and nickel. You could see EVERY imperfection on a stainless gun, if there were any, especially the polished stainless they offer, but they also have a matte stainless. Maybe someone can post a pic of both. They are beautiful.

I have seen the polished stainless CZ's. While they are shiny, they are not perfectly finished. I do like the matte stainless CZ 75's, however - very nice looking good quality handgun!

I found, recently, that the gloss blue finish is also available through the CZ Custom Shop.

I've heard many complain that they are no longer available -- well, they are, but they cost about $80 more than the standard 75B.

I didn't know that the gloss blue was available - $80 more would be well worth it! I'd love to see pictures of a gloss blue CZ75

I forgot about the polished blue. You don't see them very often. I'd love to have a polished blue 97B.

I really like the CZ line, but I don't shoot them very well. They have a trigger reset similar to Beretta or HK and I'm so used to Glocks and short reset triggers (Think SIG SRT) that it just didn't work for me. I admittedly haven't had a chance to try the Omega trigger CZ offers, though, so once I do I just might have to get another CZ if it's as nice as I've heard!

re: short reset...

There are some options. The SA version can use a two-way adjustable trigger that can reduce take up to almost zilch -- but it can't be used in the DA/SA models. Cajun Gun Works has a trigger that shortens the pull (but doesn't do anything for the take-up.)

I'm still waiting to handle and shoot my first Omega-trigger CZ...

This is what a Current BLUED SP-01 looks like. I passed on one because I really wanted a shooter and the gold was to flashy for me. Love the bluing though.

but man all those scratches and imperfections really glare through... I'm only messin!

Your concern about the visibility of scratches and blemishes is why I now avoid high-gloss blue and the highly-polished stainless guns. I've had a couple of "safe queens" and I don't need any more of them.

That said, the highly-polished BLUED finish is gorgeous.

That is a very nice blued finish - I'd skip the gold, but gladly pay $80 extra for the gloss blue!

Jump on that price!!!!! I have one. It is another firearm that is worth its weight in gold. The ergonomics on the grips are a take off of the Browning 1911 which makes this firearm very comfortable to shoot. Very little recoil. This firearm is put together like a fined tuned swiss watch. Get it!!

I once had the hammer, trigger, thumblatch, and ejector rod gold plated on a high polish blued revolver. I wish I still had it, but sold it to a friend in a moment of foolishness. The gold trim will grow on you, if you give it a chance. Very unique, and adequately tasteful, and a gun that really stands out among all the plastic and flat black out there.

Sorry it took a while, but at Venom1956's request, here's a pic of the P-01 with Kadet installed. Note that the slide extends past the frame, and the magazine does not sit flush with the magazine well, as the kit is designed to work with the full-size guns.

The Polished are just a pain to keep clean.

You might want to check out a CZ clone called Tanfoglio; I prefer it to any of my CZ75B's.

It looks off... but strangely I kinda like it? I do appreciate the pictures. Not often someone has exactly what I want to see.

The Kadet wasn't designed with full length dust cover or compact grip frame in mind, so it does look off... but it shoots very well.
