Stinger Pen gun
I'm curious if anyone has any firsthand experience with these. They were also branded as Braverman pen gun as well from what I gather. They're classed as a normal pistol not a AOW which is sort of attractive but they're CRAZY expensive from what I've seen of the few auctions. Kind of keen to buy one as a novelty "james bond" type conversation piece.

I have a couple I ordered years ago when I had my FFL...and they were cheap LOL. They take time to put into ready position, but like you said, they are nice little curios. Haven't looked at any auctions, what are these little suckers going for nowadays? Just curious, got one I fired about a box of shells in, the other is still unfired.
Although they ain't very practical, they do have the cool factor goin' on LOL. |

My friend had one (or similar) about 12 years ago. He fired it so much he injured his finger tendon. When he told the Manufacturer, they replied "you put how many rounds through it"
Well made, very novel, a pain to fire IMO. Best, dsd |

I have a Braverman .25cal. pen gun. They are very quality m made . Only take a second to put in the firing mode. Neatest thing you couild lay it on a table at McD's and ity would draw no attention. Thus a used one commands a good price.

Bought one 15 or so years ago as a novelty in .25. Not going to be confused with a Bic its all steel and about double or more in diameter. Right you could handle it in public and no one would raise and eyebrow, as long as the small pocket clip works its OK but its caliber and method of operation make it AT BEST a LAST DITCH get off me gun. My biggest fear about carrying it for any reason was the clip would let go and it would land on the cement. That and the current going rate for one...Reloading is about a 5 min exercise as well...

I've seen them on several gun sites in the $200-$300 range. There's one in .22 on Guns America for under $300 right now. They look like a novelty item. My question is, if they are a last resort defense gun, can you get to it and use it with only one hand or are two hands required to work it?

It seems like it would be the worst last ditch gun ever. A knife would be a better option. Probably a regular pointy pen would be a better option.
That being said, now that I know they exist I want one. They're a cool looking novelty weapon. Nothing more, but nothing less. I can think of a million things you could get for $2-300 that wouldn't be half as fun. $1000 seems a bit steep. |

Look again kemosabe: $1230.00
http://www.gunsamerica.com/997363620...Gun_22_RAR.htm Few on GunBroker for less at current bid price. As was stated it is a last ditch single shot weapon. If you cant do it in one .. AND for the record Mine does not take 5 minutes to load. Simply Unscrew the barrel, remove the round, replace round, and then screw the barrel back on. Never had any problems with the clip holding in my shirt pocket. I paid $270 for mine in 1994. I got mine cause I thought it was neat back. A real shooting pen gun that was classified as a regular handgun that I could buy. Bet you wished youall did. I wish I had bought more. Heres a U tube on it>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMy-t...eature=related Last edited by Master Blaster 2; June 9, 2012 at 06:56 PM. |

OK so 2.5 mins to reload! Sheech. And no it is no one handed gun, takes both hands to pull it out and lower the back half to rough pistol shape as well as using the fore finger to push the trigger to get it to go off. Better off with a pocket knife at CQB range if you're only defense to to get to that thing in your pocket... still looks cool

There's a first - I've never seen one of those before. I like the Braverman pen guns as well, but I'm not willing to pay the going price. I can buy a nice T-Series Hi-Power for what some of those Pen guns have been listed for. Heck, maybe even a Sphinx AT2000.
