Anyone using 147G bullets in 9mm?

....Hickock 45 on Youtube.com says this is his favorite round to reload. Apparently, they are sub-sonic too.

Where can you buy these bullets?

I got mine from www.reloadsnmore.com (147gr LRNFP) You wont see them on the site but he sells much more than he lists. Email him and Ralph Pullo will hook you right up. Ralph is half an hour from me so I will make a run every few months. They are 18BHN with the blue wax lube.

I run them at 1.160" over 3.3-3.4gr N320 (.43 autodisk). Makes 900fps out of my P89. Very accurate, very easy to manage. Good load.

I dont shoot them as much anymore since I bought 5K of the Berry's 124gr HBFP but I still do from time to time.

Berry's makes a plated RN 147.
I prefer the Winchester Silvertip HP 147 for my daily carry. You can buy just the bullet, and load them. I buy factory ammo for work carry.

I shoot quite a few Missouri Bullet company 147 lead fp and like them very well

I shoot 147 grain bullets in 9mm almost exclusively,

For target I use the Rainier 147 grain flat point, for SD I use the 147 grain XTP hollow point. I'm also going through a box of Laser Cast 147 grain bullet.

I use 3N38 powder for a strong accurate load (1125 fps).

Just about anyone who makes lead bullets makes 147 grain versions.
The flat point or truncated cone bullets work very well.
A web search for bullet makers will find them.

My Beretta Cx4 Storm Carbine loves Penn’s 147 and it feeds in my S&W with no problem.
Of all the 9mm bullets I have tried it’s the most accurate in the carbine. Sub 2 inch groups at 50 yards are easy.

Montana Gold - makes one as well....but I rarely reload them / I reload the 115 gr FMJ or CMJ from Montana Gold primarily ....

although I do carry a 9mm with 147gr Hydra Shok ammo in it ...if I carry a 9mm once in a while...
