Can you tell me...

If you get a C&R license do you get inspections from the ATF guys anytime? Will they come to look at the records anytime? Not that I would mind that at all, I just like to know these things I can expect and be prepared for.

"They" will show up in a large black van with dish antennas on top of it. First, "they" will act as if "they" are simply canvassing the neighbohood for a yard maintenance company, but you can tell who "they" are by the dark sunglasses. Soon, you will see "them" lurking around, spying, watching, peeking around phone poles, but ONE NIGHT, "they" will raid your home with 1,000 ATF agents, all dressed in black, with tinfoil badges and ID cards that just say "John" hanging around their necks . . .

Seriously, I have never known the ATF to just "show up" and audit a C&R FFL. Heck, I have only met the ATF folks a few times in 25 years.

Sometimes it's disguised as a florist, pizza delivery, or a diaper service van. Be ever vigilant.

Never been visited but they were the first to call after my phone service was restored post hurricane Katrina. They wanted to know if I had lost any C&R firearms. Another agent called a week later and wanted to know the same thing.

There were a bunch of people who were inspected several months ago, mostly in MA. I was not among those who were inspected, and have since escaped into NH.

They called and scheduled appointments with the C&R holders. Mostly they seem to have gone well.

Read about it here: http://northeastshooters.com/vbullet...ad.php?t=49324

Yes it seems inspections are more common lately. They can show up without notice. You have the option of letting them in then ,rescheduling to a later date to have the inspection at your home or taking all your firearms and records to their office for inspection.
As long as you records are correct as they should be you have nothing to fear from a inspection
