Rate your customer support experiences.
I've got about 22 firearms and I handload and have had the pleasure and displeasure of having to deal with a lot of warranty and customer support issues. I though I would share my experiences. I rated each of my manufacturers on a scale of 1 to 5 . One being useless, 5 being outstanding. When I rate a 5, it doesn't mean I simply got free parts, it means the overall experience was professional, expert knowledge and quick closure. When I rate a 1 it means my overall takeaway was the mfg could care less about the issue and just BS'd me or no communication at all.
This is strictly for comparison, YMMV and please do NOT turn this thread into a specific manufacturer bash thread or I will ask the whole thread to be removed. RCBS = 5 LEE = 5 Burris = 1 Sightron = 4 Remington = 3 Vector Arms = 3 Sharp Shooters Supply = 2 Graf and Sons = 3 Mcree Precision = 5 Celestron = 1 Dillon Precision = 5 Griffin Armament = 3 White Oak Armament = 4 Pedersoli = 2

On a scale of 1 to 5
Ruger earns a 10 and Beretta an 8.5 Smith and Wesson a 5 and Springfield Armory a 5. Never had anything but 5s for reloading component companies. Regarding the 4 gun companies I mentioned, I can't figure out why anyone would want to deal with any of the other gun manufacturers. |

I have only had to deal with one manufacturer for warranty repairs — Smith & Wesson. Both times on new guns that failed the first or second time I fired them. In both cases, S&W handled the problems without a hitch at no cost to me and relatively fast — a 3-week turn around on one and 2 on the other.
That’s 5-star service in my book. |
