Powder coating old bullets

Can you powder coat bullets that have Alox on them or do you have to remove the Alox first? If so, how do you remove it?

The Alox will have to come off.

I used Acetone to remove the NRA Formula 50/50 Alox from a lot of my cast bullets before powder coating them. However, I have not tried to remove Lee Liquid Alox from any bullets so I don't know if Acetone will work on them.

You don't need to subject yourself to acetone fumes or cost. Simple odorless mineral sprits will dilute Lee Liquid Alox and dissolve it. They will have to sit in it a bit longer, but it works. There is also a water-base degreaser that will likely do it called ZEP 505. Board member Hummer70 has used it to take the tar sealant off pulled military bullets and cases. Soaking, it gets underneath the tar layer and the stuff just falls off in about 24 hours.
