About R-Guns in Carpentersville, IL...
Would anyone care to share their opinions & experiences with R-Guns, Carpentersville, IL?
I am considering ordering a rifle from them to ship to my FFL. Thanks for your advice. Alex ----------------------- Moderator: I hope I am not bending the rules too far by posting this topic here. I originally posted it under 'Retail Deals and Feedback' but have received no replies, and I need to make a decision by Tuesday, and hope that someone here can advise. ----------------------- |

Had a VERY bad experience with them~!
Last spring I ordered a DPMS Cmp .22lr upper for my wife's AR 15. I specified the CMP mod. several times. I got a regular .22lr upper. I called and they said send it back and they would order a CMP...it would take a couple weeks to get it.
I waited on them for over 3 months and, after several unanswered e-mails and unreturned phone calls, I had to contact the credit card company to get a credit. They were the most unprofessional outfit I have ever seen. Right up there with JoeKen the AK47 crook....:barf:

I actually lived right by R GUNS until I moved to Arizona and after going there a couple times and experienced their incompetent staff, I never went there again.
I went there to look at some AR mags they had advertised and first all I wanted to do was just to look at them. The guy made me take out my Illinois FOID card before I could even LOOK at the magazines. FOID cards are required to purchase firearms and ammo in Illinois, NOT for LOOKING at AR15 magazines! The used AR magazines they had posted on their website at the time looked like they were in decent 90% condition, but when I saw them in the store, they were beat up crap. I asked the guy if they had any mag couplers for 30 round AR mags. He didn't even know what I was talking about! The owner/manager of the store was a real jerk on other gun boards for the longest time acting like a 12 year old rather than a professional businessman. I don't know if R-Guns is still under the same managment, new management or staff or has gotten their act together as some people say they had decent service where others still had bad service. |

I thought this question sounded familiar. Much drama:

R-Guns Delivered!
I called and e-mailed R-Guns several times over the past three weeks to inquire about ordering/purchasing a DPMS .308 M4 carbine as advertised in their web site: $975 with standard hand guard, $1075 with quad-rail. Each time they told me that they had not received any yet, but were expecting them in a few days, so to call back.
Last Friday I called again, admittedly without much hope, but lo and behold, they had received them! I had already asked my FFL holder to mail R-Guns the license, so R-Guns was able to accept my order immediately – one DPMS .308 wit quad rail for $1075 + $10 S&H. They shipped the same day, Friday, it arrived Tuesday, and I picked it up yesterday ($20 transfer fee). It came with two 20-rd magazines, sling, cleaning kit, manual, etc. in a hard case, and it looks great. Now I need t add a removable rear iron sight, optical sight (haven’t decided yet; maybe Eotech?) and either a JP trigger or a Rock River Arms 2-stage match trigger. Just thought you may like to know… Alex |
