Jumped in and bought a 1860, $209 sale price plus the free shipping code from Cabelas. Didn't realize I needed another pistol but it's a good price.

It is indeed a good price. If I didn't already have an 1860, I'd have snapped one up too.

Pietta 1858's $50 off at Cabela's right now. Been eyeing the steel frame Sheriff for while now, but I've already spent so much money the past few weeks that I can't do it. I'll wait for the Spring sale in March.

Thanks TT! I ended up getting a Pietta Steel frame Army 1860 44 cal for $222 shipped! Better than any BF deal this year.

Took my new Pietta Army 1860 44 cal. out to the desert today. Loaded this with 35g of Olde Eynsford and .454 balls. #10 Remingtons fit the nipples well, without wanting to fall off. Very impressed at 25 yrds. Shoots high (as expected) and a bit to the right. It groups consistently. I do like the feel & weight. My other BP revolvers are Ubertis, and a 1851 Navy 36 cal. from 1980, that I'm not sure of the brand. This revolver could cycle quickly through all five rounds, without the tendency to loose a primer or two. I do appreciate that. Overall, for the price, it's a good looking, good functioning value.

I got to hold the 1858 sheriff in my hand today. That is a nice balanced wheel gun.

Got my 1860 on the other , finally had a chance to check it out. I like it, this is the first non 1858 revolver I have bought. It points nicely, I may have to check out the open tops a bit more.

Got my Pietta Army 1860 44 cal as well. Nice gun and I also bought a 45 Long Colt conversion cylinder...
