Illinois Question

Am I able to take someone without a FOID card shooting at a public range? I am 20, have my FOID card and we would be shooting shotguns.

I have taken family members and friends, who did not have an FOID, shooting at indoor and outdoor ranges. I have an FOID, and that is all that was required.

This has been my experience at gat guns in Dundee.

If you rent a gun you need a FOID. If you just bring your own gear they won't ask for it. Same goes for out of staters.

A non holder can share a lane with a holder.

Yes you can, but most ranges will make you sign a disclaimer/waiver that you are liable for that person in case there's an accident of some sort.
