Just bought some 122g (yes, 122g) lead flat points to reload using 231 powder. Can anyone provide some load help.
Thanks in advance, Frank |

Not my favorite 9mm powder, but start at 3.4g and work up slow. Try OAL of 1.145" (and vary toward longer first) for reliable feed.
Do not reduce OAL below 1.100". ------------------ "All my ammo is factory ammo" |

Faiello5. You can use data for either 125 gr. jacketed or cast bullets, as your bullets weigh less than 125 gr.

WESHOOT2, why don't you like 231 for 9mm? From what I see in the book (Lee Reloading), it looks ideal.

I've used WW231 for 9mm, works great. I don't know why anyone would be against it.

Not 'against' W231, just think there are a few better choices (accuracy and velocity).
Prefer WAP (now discontinued), Vihta 3N37 or Power Pistol. I believe (after considerable testing) that WAP is the most accurate .355"-bore powder, followed closely by V3N37. Power Pistol is just a wee bit dirtier than 3N37. ------------------ "All my ammo is factory ammo" |

Faiello5, if these bullets are sized .356", the W231 or HP38 are perfect!
Make sure you don't load RNFP (.358") bullets in the 9mm Para. When you said "flat point", I think you meant SWC or conical. Regards! DaMan |

I don't sweat velocity when reloading, since I'm not trying for a powerhouse load, especially in 9mm. As far as accuracy, I've seen very little difference in accuracy between various powders in 9mm, assuming the same bullets. When I'm going for accuracy, I'm normally shooting my 1911s.
