Saiga Rifles - Where did they go?
So I'm finally about to the point where I want to buy a Saiga (in 7.62x39) to convert, and now they are nowhere to be found.
What gives? |

Try the Saiga-12 board. Someone may be selling one already converted.

I'm just curious if these are still being imported/stock by dealers. I know the Izhmash factory has had some financial problems. Are these rifles still coming into the US? |

Last I knew they were still coming in.
Keep in mind that the importation of such things tends to be in gluts. A shipment will come in and they'll be EVERYWHERE and at low prices. Then they'll sell out and for a few months will be nearly unobtainable and prices rise. Then another shipment arrives, and they're again plentiful and cheap. Rinse, repeat. I checked Classic Firearms' site (they tend to have decent stock on them), and the only Saiga rifle they show has already been converted. That makes me think that we're probably in between shipments right now. You'll need to either hunt about a bit or wait. |

^^^^^ What he said. I got mine at J&G Sales almost two years ago and they sold out shortly after that. I'm wondering when the next big shipment will be coming in.

Well, I saw two new 7.62x39mm Saigas (unconverted) at a gun show this weekend. One was selling for $548 and the other for $499.
Outrageous. |

Wow. Somebody thinks that a prospective buyer isn't likely to run across one at a much more reasonable price.
