Bullet abbreviations

I am new to reloading and reading all the load data and see some designations/abbreviations/nomenclature that I just dont understand. Some are obvious JHP, LRN, etc
Others such as 335 GR. CPB WLN GC I cant find. The Powder manufacturer web site doesnt always have a index. At least not one I can find.

Didn't include the CPB which is bullets by Cast Performance Bullets and the WLN is wide long nose while WFN is wide flat nose.

So what your saying is there is no one source for the abreviatons??? I was hoping to find a chart that was standardized. Like a ANSI standard for all manufacturers to follow.

BoogieMan, SAAMI has the only "official" standard for firearms ammunition. They don't go into any detail for bullet types at all. And their standars are voluntary for companies to use; there's no laws preventing someone to do or name something different.

Best thing to do is browse through all the info form all the companies then do your best to figure out what each one's abbreviations mean. There may well be two or more meanings for the same one.

Yes, it's a nightmare. But sleep the best your can after reading all that somewhat confusing stuff.

Seeing as there is not list is it best to get your load data from bullet mfg and then check against poder or press manufacturers books or does not matter?
