Ccw on federal land

I encountered this at the national Cemetery here in Florida. A sign is posted reading that firearms are prohibited form the cemetery and its grounds.
For the folks that are more versed in the federal park carry laws wouldn't the national cemetery's be considered federal land?

The new National Park laws do NOT extend to all federal land. For example, ACOE (Army Corps of Engineers) land around lakes is still prohibited.

I wonder who they are concerned about getting shot in a cemetery?

What's a person supposed to do about zombies?

I believe most National Cemeteries are controlled by the VA, and the VA is not gun friendly.

Don't ask, don't tell. Thats why they call it CCW. Next time I am there I will have to look for a fed or local ordinance code # if any.
I wonder what the penalty is if caught?

I called the cemetery and asked about the sign. I was informed that it came down from DC as to no CCW in all national Cemetery's. No other reason was given

Correct: http://www.cem.va.gov/cems/listcem.asp

The VA is not the National Park Service, so the change affecting national parks does not affect national cemetaries.

Saw a sign at the entrance to Bay Pines National Cemetery in St Petersburg Florida for the first time Memorial Day, stating guns and other weapons were prohibited. Very disturbing that it is the final resting place for brave American soldiers who fought to preserve our rights, and there is a sign in front banning visitors Constitutional rights to bear arms. My relatives and friends buried there would have a lot to say about it if they were still able to do so.
