308 Hornady?
I'm thinking about buying a marlin. as I wander around, I've seen this new load that Hornady is coming out with called 308 hornady; I guess they made it up for marlin leer actions. anyone have ballistics for this new round? a good guess is ok also. thanks guys/gals

They already do........what Hornaday has done is allowed something other than a flat point bullet be used in a tube magazine. If you have one of the other calibers listed in Val Fisher's link, and have a lever gun you can buy the Hornaday ammo and go for it.
Hornaday did not make a new round. They made a new bullet.

Supposed to be a good round. Somewhere on one of these web sites. I read Hornady has NO plans, to sell the bullet. Or tell you about the powder.

Dang Hornady!
Now I've got to go out and tell all those guys who have been safely shooting & reloading for Winchester 30-30s and alike all these years that they have also been wrong all these years.
That bullet mold Gramps used back in the 30's & handed-down to me, and was still working until I read this post, wasn't any darn good at pouching, I mean hunting, all these decades. What will I do with this 4895? I've seen those scrap piles of exploaded mag tube rifles. There most have been hundreds of them. Good thing someone eles is doing the thinking for us. |

307 winchester too?
please say yes, the 307 too; I just stuck my foot in it, and bought a winchester AE in 307. stay tuned for this one, I'll be in touch.
