WF Vickery 219 Improved Zipper Barrel

I got this Vickery barrel with a bunch of other older Mauser barrels and stocks. Did a small amount of research but I was curious if anyone here has any knowledge on it.

Seems like it might be something someone might desire...

W.F. Vickery was a well known gunsmith of the 1920s and 1930s.

I cannot find those extractor cuts in any of the four Frank DeHass' books I have here.

It would be cool to find out.

I am all new to this so I have no books for reference or know any really in depth online resources. I would like to get some sources so I can start ID'ing a bunch of old Mil Mauser stocks and barrels I have as well.

Any tips on that?

Looks like that 219 barrel got rebored to 6mm. Pity. Anyway, the extractor cuts do kind of look like a single shot of some sort.

How would I confirm this?

Or what is the giveaway that it has been rebored?

The stamp that says "6mm 30/30" confirms that it was rebored.

Probably shot out, the .219 I.Z. was a HOT round, frequently overloaded.
6mm .30-30 was an easy rebore and kept the same head and rim diameter so the extractor didn't have to be changed.

Very cool!

So I am assuming this drops whatever value it might have had as the 219 zipper?

And what action would I have to get for this barrel?
