Combat accuracy?
What do you consider good combat accuracy from your BP revolvers?
I try to go for 3" at 7 yards firing shots rapid fire (shots spaced 2-4 seconds apart, usually 4 to let the smoke to clear) two handed hold, no fast draw. I figgure 3" at this distance is the size of a human heart... Not that I am capable of such accuracy, it's just my pie-in-the-sky idea of perfect! What's really good in your opnion? ZVP |

I don't do rapid fire but one handed I can (most of the time) hold three inches at 25 yards.

Same as my carry gun: 10 consecutive in a 6 inch bull from 10 yards, two hand hold. The only difference is the time; the carry gun is fired double action, while the bp revolver is, of course, fired single action. And reloading the bp revolver is a bit longer as well...

You don't have very high expectations.

Re: expectations...
I set my goal to 3"@7 yards which is still out of reach on a regular basis but now my club has imposed a ridicolous 1 shot every 5 seconds limit on the regular Pistol range so there goes my speed goal. I am not in the CAS group so I don't have access to the range there with no speed limit.
Oh well, now my smoke will clear and maybe I can get the sights on tatget now? Maybe I can hit the 3" mark? ZVP |
