Brownell Savage Barrel Kits?
Anyone use any of the Brownell pre-fit Savage Barrel Kits?
I have a Savage 110 Long Action that I'd like to convert back into 30-06. The Brownell kit seems pretty reasonable. I inquired about the barrel maker and they replied that they are ER Shaw barrels. Seems like ER Shaw gets some mixed reviews online. Opinions? |

They're an OK barrel, used to use them pretty regularly before they hiked their prices by 50% a few years back.

you can get all the stuff individually cheaper if you can find a cheap take off barrel.
try switchbarrel.com, or any of the auction sites for cheap non used barrels. i built a savage switch barrel in 7mm mag and .30-06, got the '06 barrel for $50 shipped, and it was never used. paid just over $100 for all necessities.
