Mossberg 500 replace front sight or scope

Is it possible to replace the front sight on a Mossberg 500 slug barrel?

Also, if it is not practical to replace the sight, what is the best way to install a scope on this gun for deer hunting.

While a devout fan of the Mossberg line i am not familiar with the slug barrels. Is it in a Dovetail groove as many are? If so I am sure it is replaceable... Email Mossberg and explain the problem and if it seems to be a defect explain it. They will send you one (if replaceable) for a low cost if not free!
As for the scope, if it is a new enough made unit it is ecuipped with mounting holes (I think) and the barrel may be able to recieve the "cantilever" scope mount, Maybe you remove the rear scope but once again I am not totally familiar with their slug barrel offerings...
