2021 Deer Season for Me.

This season was like most, but this I will never forget.
Anticipation isnt my strong suit so for weeks Ive been going through all the possibilities of opening morning, which in Missouri started on the 13th of November for me as I dont use Archery any longer.
My whole family celebrates this time of the year even though some may not hunt, but the understand my excitement none the less.
My wife of 40 years was my biggest fan you may say, always telling me to get the deer early so I could go warm myself in the vehicle.
My wife left this world losing a battle to MS on Veterans Day,. She always built me up for deer season, as she loved to eat it with me.
7:30 am Nov 13th in Northern Missouri a nice little 9 pointer worked his way down the edge of a brushy finger as I set inside only 35 yds away, and with one shot my rifle buck tag had been punched..
Veterans Day and the Missouri Opener will always have a profound influence on me.

Andy, congratulations on getting a nice buck this year. I’d like to add that I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, it’s a difficult thing and you have my sympathy. Glad you still like to get out and do what you like.

I am truly sorry about your wife. I understand how deer season and certain days get harder as you lose people in your life. Take comfort in the times you remember the times you had together.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. Any words likely sound hollow just now, but time should help a little bit. Just now, I expect your grief is still very deep. Glad you pushed out and got a hunt in and a buck.

I can remember clearly, even now 20 years later, the last deer I killed with my Dad, and the first one I killed after he was gone. The grief I felt then is gone, replaced with all the good memories. I trust your path will be similar.
