870 Express HD vs. Police
I've already read the excellent threads comparing these guns, as well as the mossberg, etc. Assuming I am mostly going to keep it home for HD "just in case" and learning how to hit clays in the air (once my local range remodels the shotgun range) will I be OK with the HD or should I just spend the extra 200 bucks or so and get the police one? I don't think I'm adding lights or other stuff to it.
Thanks! |

In your case, I probably buy the HD and spend the extra on ammo.
The Express is the same forged and milled steel receiver gun as the Police, just with some cost-cutting features that don't affect the utility, durability, and reliability of the gun. The Police is NICE, and although mine is also strictly an at home defense gun, I did buy the Police model. Before that, I owned an early HD model, and it was entirely satisfactory and did everything I asked of it. The only reason I got the Police was, a friend needed a HD gun, and to help her our, I gave her the Express. Since I had some money to spare at the time, I bought the Police simply because I like the higher quality finish. Cadillacs are nice, but sometimes a good Chevy fits the need. |
