Year of manufacture for a Marlin Model 1936
I have a Marlin Model 1936 .30-30 serial #B4XXX.
What year was my .30-30 made? What years were the Marlin Model 1936's in production? I have been told that they were made exclusively in 1936 and that they were made in 1936 and 1937. Thanx, HV |

HV, your Marlin Model 1936 was made in 1937 based on the serial number you have provided. The Model 1936 was made in both 1936 & 1937. There were actually two variations. The first variation had a long tang, serial numbers without a "B" prefix, fluted comb and no Bull's Eye in the stock. The second variation had a short tang, serial numbers with a "B" prefix, plain comb and a Bull's Eye in the stock. Hope this helps!

Thank you, this was my father's deer and bear rifle for years back home in Michigan. He gave it to me and it still shoots & hunts real nice.
