The problem with your question is that for some of us that change guns in our collection often it’s hard to say what the favorite is.
A great deal depends on the gun’s use, I have multiple favorites. Right now it’s an S&W 1955 Target in 44 Special. The main reason is that I have been looking for one for over 30 years. I wanted a 5 inch in 90% condition. Prior to that it was a Lew Horton 3 inch 24.
In a couple of months it will be a Ruger 1911 Commander.
I finally got the 55 late last year and for now it’s my favorite.

I own 25 handguns, and I can't pick a favorite. I enjoy them all in different ways. As a class though, I have a soft spot for double action revolvers, S&Ws in particular.

You can never have too many. Very hard to pick a favorite as if I have it I liked it very much. A bunch of guns do very different things, hunting, plinking, self defense, and eye candy. Enjoy them all.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40, or there abouts, currently.

Favorite? no single one, but I do have favorites in each caliber and action types.

Favorite to own, beautifully engraved Colt SAA. Favorite to shoot, a S&W 952. Total is around 25. I shoot and load for all of them except the Colt.

I have 27. Favorite is one of the following.

Ruger Redhawk in 45 colt with a 4" barrel
Ruger "old model" Vaquero in 45 colt with trigger job
Colt 1st gen detective special with original nickel finish and factory MOP grips
Beretta 84
Glock 19
Makarov in 380
Sig P290

Cant decided which of those I like better but they are a level about the rest to me.

wow!

Damn you guys own a lot of handguns! I thought 5 was a lot LOL. I'm sure it took a few years to accommodate all those handguns but do you guys actually still shoot all of them or are most of them just safe queens?

No safe queens for me,I'm down to 10 right now.
I sold three just before Christmas to fund a Long gun I wanted.
I Like all my firearms but Im not a collector,Some Ive bought will be passed down, some used for a while and traded for something else I want to play with.
Because Im not wealthy I have a personal limit set at 10 hand guns so if I want a new one I have to want it bad enough to give up another, this helps keep me in check a bit.
I have some for competition, hunting, plinking, carry ect.
I have a pair of 1911"s and a very niceS&W 586 4" with the nicest action I've
ever felt, its butter smooth these will be passed down when Im gone.
The rest may come and go.

OK on a (we hope) anonymous web site, but it is generally not a good idea to brag about having a lot of guns, or sometimes any guns at all. Gun owners are in the peculiar position of being in danger from crooks who want to steal guns and cops who want to confiscate them. The end result for the gun owner is the same, and the danger is as great, because both crooks and cops are liable to burst in, shooting to kill.

Oh sweet Jesus bac1023! I would have to hire an armorer to deal with that much iron!

I only have 6 handguns at the moment, my favorite was the first.

Colt Combat Commander - 38 Super - $185 in 1976!

Have spent about $300 in tweaks over the years.

Where's all the good vintage stuff? I mean come on. You think a collection is made by buying 100s of brand new pistols?

Actually, other than the 1911s, most of those were built in the 1950s through 1990's. I rarely buy anything new.

Also, my revolver collection is mostly all vintage models.

Not as many as Bac1023 but enough that its a chore to clean them all. Too hard to pick an overall favorite. My favorite semi-auto is a Brown Special Forces 1911.

I have 11. My favorite is my well worn SW Model 60 .38spl. A few years ago, I would have said my Colt Gold Cup, but after 16+ years by my side and having gone almost everywhere with me, I can't imagine being anywhere without it.

No offense, but wouldn't having 15k post on a gun message board run you the same risk as "bragging"? Someone that spends that much time discussing guns probably has either a lot of them or some really nice ones
