Game/trail cameras on clearance at WallyWorld
Our area WalMarts are clearancing their older game cameras. The Tasco 3 megapixel are $33 & they have Bushnells for $40-$60. I picked up a Bushnell 5 megapixel with infrared night vision and video mode for $60 ($259 retail) yesterday. Despite mixed reviews (seems they either work, or they don't. If they work, they work GREAT & if they don't work it's impossible to get any single feature to do what it's supposed to do. I did see one reference that since these were discontinued, Bushnell has been replacing non working units with a newer version- YMMV) I set it up in the barn last night & it worked GREAT and takes pretty good pictures, both in day and night mode. The unit that I got had a "flyer" stuck in the operator's manual saying it had been updated to take a 2GB SD memory card (they originally would only work with 1GB cards). Some Walmarts carry the Moultrie brand cameras (they have better reviews than the Tasco & Bushnell line) of the same vintage that should be on clearance too, if your area store has them.
I've wanted a trail camera for a looong time, but couldn't justify $200-$300 for something that has such a high theft rate.
