Rebuilt original with a lot of new parts and heavy handed cleaning.

I get the impression of a gun that was rusty and was polished using hand work and abrasives, then cold blued. Actually, it is a decent job and the corners have been preserved well, but the finish and bluing are obviously not original.

But, for $200 or so, I would buy it.

Some of those older repros came as kits. The metal might be blued, but just dipped after machining, with no sanding or polishing. The buyer would then final sand and polish the steel, and blue it however they could. Navy arms used to sell a lot like this. I have a 51 navy that was like that. The brass receiver and frame were as cast, the steel rough milled and turned, then blued. I did all the finish sanding and polishing, then cold blued the steel.

It's a Pietta "Shooters Model" remington that has been "defarbed" and "antiqued".

Having never seen a Pietta shooter's model I cannot comment as to whether that is what it is. I was going to say that it looks like a Euroarms (Armi San Paulo) gun. The piettas had post front sights rather than dovetailed ones. The Ubertis have a more gradual slope from the top of the frame to the barrel like the originals and have a dovetailed front sight. The Euro/ASPs have the stepped barrel/frame junction AND a dovetail front sight. If you could weigh a Uberti you'd find it heavier than a Euroarms/ASP but lighter than a Pietta. It is not an original. My guess is a defarbed ASP/Euroarms.

Never saw a repro with a barrel address. Never saw a shooters model either.

It is a Pietta Shooters Model. At one time I had two of them, sold one, still have the other. Both marked with the Remington barrel address and have dovetailed front sights. One would have to do very little to defarb them as unlike other Pietta Remingtons, there are no visible proof markings except under the barrel.

They are very accurate, well worth the $200 the seller is asking.

I used to own one of those too. Pietta Remington Target Model. Standard Pietta with target sights. No where near as accurate as the Shooters Model.
