Mauser 1914

Mauser 1914 is one of my favorites. Does anyone eilse have a similar like? I need new magazines for mine. Have found originals on Gunbroker for prices much too high. The only others I've found are at Gunclip Depot and Triple K. Does anyone have experience with either of these? There was a discussion about .25acp pistols and I mentioned there the Mauser 1910 -- wish I had one of these. There was one for sale at a local GS, but the price was out of sight. All the old Mausers were prime examples of the Gunmakers' Art.

Should add that the Mauser 1914 and 1910 add to the "striker fired" discussion. Both of these are striker fired.

I have the 25acp and the 32acp versions. Are those the 1910 and 1914 models, respectively? They are both pretty accurate and fun to shoot.

The 1910 is 25acp. The 1914 is 32acp (or 7.65 Browning depending on your insistence on correct terminology). I know that 1914 was redesigned in 1934 -- you can tell the difference by the shape of the grip. It is my understanding that the 1910 was redesigned both in 1914 and 1934. However, I've never seen one or even a picture that was stated to be of a redesigned 1910.

I have a 1910 in 25acp. It is interesting design, quirky, over complicated, but interesting nonetheless.

It is striker fire alright. But it is different from all the striker fire pistols today. The striker stay in the frame, instead of the slide.

Have you seen the price of Japanese Nambu pistol magazines?! They are not cheap either.

If there is one truth about parts for vintage guns, it is: If you think it is expensive now, wait till you see what it costs tomorrow!

Now if I only had the cash to buy Van Gogh's Irises when it was a bargain at $53.9 million. That was 1987, the picture is probably worth over $100 million today. My financial situation has never accommodated the market.....

I did buy an Irises poster for $20.00. Because it is flat paper, it does not have the three dimensionality of the original, but it is affordable.
