I've been shooting cast bullet reloads in both a revolver and my 1873 Uberti for some time now. Recently I've got some difficult in extracting the fired cases from the Uberti but not the revolver. I've cleaned the gun. Didn't help. I can not figure out why the cases are hard to extract. Any ideas?

Did you change your loads? Get new a new lot of powder?
Higher pressure will cause cases to expand more and stick in the chambers. That's all I can think of. Karl |

Is the extractor worn or maybe broken. Are you sure you cleaned the chamber itself good.Have you developed a rough chamber for some reason. Are you shooting some cases that have been shot several times and maybe dinged up pretty bad,a long shot on the last guess. IS it in 45 long colt or 44/40. It would be my guess that you would have problems quicker reguarding extraction shooting the 45 colt before the tapered 44/40.In the end I wouldn't be suprised to find out that the extracter has wore some and is sliping over the small rim of the 45 colt case.

I may have misread your post you did not say your rifle was failing to extract the cases you said hard to extract. If they are extracting but just hard to pull out forget about the last part of my first post.Try some brand new brass.
