PMU 32 S&W long $18 per 50

I have not purchased 32 longs in a while and was pleasantly surprised to find 32 S&W long $18 per 50 at cableas. It is still in excess of 100% higher than you would expect extrapolating from 45 acp to 9mm to 32. Glass half full is better than empty. Using the latest coupon, you can get upto 20% discounted.

Well, .32 H&R Magnum is, it's basically always $1/round. For how small the cartridge is and how it's weaker than .327, I consider it expensive.

But yeah, basic .32 ammo for plinking or ultra low recoil self defense is not if you buy online. Problem is gun store employees want you to buy from them and they won't stock a lot of .32 and get a better price from bulk purchases because it doesn't sell as well as .22, .38, or others and thus they charge you more.

The very best way to shoot any 32 round is to reload for it. I know not everyone reloads but to shoot less than mainstream rounds reloading is the only way to go. I reload for every round I shoot except for rimfires of course and 25 acp. I just don’t shoot enough of the 25acp to justify reloading for it. I just bought 500 rounds and called it good. I also cast for most rounds I shoot so my reloading cost are very low.

The .32 caliber is no cheaper to reload for than .38 Special, but it's not more expensive to reload for either. Given that you can find .38 for a low enough price, it may cost double what your reloads cost, but your time reloading it is priceless. With .32's, the savings of it over factory ammo makes it worth reloading more, at least in comparison to .38 Special.

I consider it an ok deal, for some reason 32L can be a little tough to find locally and if you dont reload can get a little expensive but its better than no ammo. I reload for this caliber and enjoy making wadcutters for my guns.

The .32 is cheaper for me to load than .38. Rim Rock Bullets sells 78 grain lead RN bullets for $25 per 500. That's a nickel. I use about 3.8 grains of AutoComp in .32 H&R cases (for about 900 f/s) so that's less than 2 cents a round for powder. I buy primers for about $25/1000, so that's about 10 cents a round to reload. .38 is a bit more because the 138 button nose wadcutter I buy from Bayou costs about 7 cents apiece and the other costs are about the same. I also use the same 78 grain bullet in 32 S&W long. If you cast your own you can reload cheaper, but I've never had the urge to cast. Still, if you DO cast, a 78 grain .32 bullet is going to cost less than a heavier .38 bullet. And the 327 Fed Mag are waaay cheaper to reload than to buy factory.

$18 for a box of 50? That's inexpensive? I've been shooting a 32 Long for a long time but never bought a box of loaded ammo or even bullet's. Mine has always been really inexpensive to load, I cast bullet's and reload for it. A good thing for me is I got all my lead free. Have maybe a lifetime supply of it!

I bought two box's 9mm for a Christmas present and I think they were around $12 each.
