Looking for Ruger only 45 Colt loads with H110 and 250 Noslers.
Anybody have loads with this combination that they've tried first hand? Thanks.

The Speer #12 has "Ruger Only" data in it.

Clark's data is good. I've actually gone hotter than 24 grains with 270 grain cast SWCs in my Redhawk, however I probably wouldn't exceed that with the 250 Nosler.
The recommendations for Speer and Hodgdon data are also good. I've used both for working up Ruger-only .45 Colt loads with other powders with good results. Mike |

Interesting that the Nosler Manual does not have a load for H110, nor does Hornady. Speer #14 lists a start load of 19 grains, max of 21, for 1,091 and 1,200 fps out of a 7 1/2" Blackhawk. Sorry, I have not tried any jacketed bullets in mine. I like Oregon Trail hardcast over 20 grains of H110. A 250 RNFP comes out at 1,260 and a 300 grain flatpoint "Keith" bullet at 1,240 fps. That's from a 6 1/2" Blackhawk. Speer does have a real heavy load with a 300 grain Unicore SP starting at 21.1, max 23.5. Good luck and start low.

I've loaded 26 grains of 296 with 255 grain cast bullets before, for a Ruger Bisley. That j-bullet will give you higher pressure, but not by much. 24.0 should be a good place to start but is not a max load.

I have loaded them to 26 grains of H110 and in the 4" RedHawk I got 1144 FPS. Winchester LP primer. That is my limit with these bullets in that pistol.
