200 gr swc for alloy Kimber?
Will a lead swc damage the ramp on an alloy frame .45 any more than a 230 gr. round nose? Pistol is a Kimber Tactical Custom.

The short answer is no. I have been shooting them for years with no problems. The feed ramp on the barrel is made of hardened steel just like the barrel. The SWC bullet is made of the same metal as in the RN bullets

I believe that he is talking about an alloy 1911 without a ramped barrel. I own several, and shoot a bunch of lead SWCs through them.
Bottom line, lead is softer than the anodized alloy frame. No worries. |

Thanks for the info. My Kimber tactical barrel is indeed non ramped.
