Apartment safe
So this idiot I know owns a dozen firearms, lives in an apartment, is single with no kids, but still doesn't own a gun safe. What would you recommend that can securely hold 12+ pistols and would be easyish to install in a big ("drive-in") apartment closet? Something for basic theft/fire protection, wouldn't break the bank, and wouldn't drop through the floor.
What if this idiot also owned a couple rifles?

Why is he an idiot? Just because he does not have a gun safe he is an idiot?
I have to disagree. His apartment locks so his guns are locked up. Pesonally I have a safe for my guns but to each their own. To help him out, he could get a good Stack On safe for not very much money. Here is their website: http://www.stack-on.com/categories/stack-on-safes

Oh, he's an idiot, I can assure you that. He can't clean a pistol without slicing his hand on an ejector or the like. Though he does keep his apartment locked at all times.
Thanks, I'll check out those Stack Ons. Just installation is my main concern.

I don't think the electronic lock that is used on this brand is the best quality, but I do like the modular design for an apartment because no one knows its a safe when delivered and is easier to move.
MODULAR SAFE Whatever you get, I would at least bolt it to the wall studs at the top and bottom of the back side. Sheetrock is easy and cheap to patch a few holes for the added security it will provide. There are other brands, but I think they get a little more expensive. |
