I've never owned a Nikon and I'm not sure about their warranty but Leupold has excellent customer service and a lifetime no bs warranty. To me this would be worth the extra $120. You should also look at Burris if you don't want to spring for the extra on the Leupold. Burris are a excellent scope and aren't quite as much as a Leupold.

I own two Nikon rifle scopes, asnmd they are every bit as good as the Leupolds I own. In fact, I think they're just a little bit clearer and brighter.

HOWEVER: Since I bought them, Nikon has introduced a line of "el cheapo Wally World Special" scopes as well. If the Nikon you're looking at is top of the line, go for it. If it's part or their "economy" line, I wouldn't touch it with a pole.
