Wow, I am impressed! What are you using as a mold?

I'm using a two piece silicone mould right now, but I'm getting air pockets. Next time I'm going to try a different style of grip and a one piece mould. I'll also install more air vents.
The rubber is a polyurethane 70A hardness. It feels good in the hand, but not good at accepting hardware. My next attempt will be with 80A hardness rubber. Hogue gets around this by making a solid plastic base then using a rubber coating. I don't have expensive injection moulding machines so I'm going to have to get creative. I'm also going to try and freeze it before drilling. If conventional bits don't work I'm going to make some hollow bits out of some tubing. |
