1911 grips

Hi, can anyone tell me the frame width of a commander/officer model 45acp please. I have a s/armory emp3 with a frame width of 3/4". Thinking of buying Houge commander size rubber grips an cutting them down to fit the emp, if possible. Any help always appreciated, Thanks.

Hogue and other rubber grips usually have a steel mesh in 'em. Kind of like reinforced concrete. Cutting 'em leaves the mesh end out.
Anyway, Hogue (et al) makes grip for 'compact' 1911 style pistols.

Thanks, the steel mesh would make this project more difficult. Sorry, i failed to mention i contacted Hogue and they said the inside dimension is wider than 3/4" but did not know just how wide it is. May just have find a different route for grips. Thanks.
