Republic Arms- Patriot .45-Opinions

Anybody have any experiance with Republic Arms Patriot model .45 ACP? 3" barrel, Double Action Only, Polymer Frame, 6+1 capacity.

Got a guy trying to sell me one NIB for $220. (on the easy payment plan, no less) which seems OK, but you never know, I've never heard of them.

Any responses pro or con appreciated.

Buy it for $220! This is an excellent value in a compact .45 ACP. Recoil is stout so I don't want to fire too many mags. Seems well designed and well built. Hard to find and not very well known, so there is a bit of a cult aspect. Could be considered the .45 counterpart to the Kel-Tec pistols.

Good info thru that link, thanks. Nobody really said anything bad about it and it is only 220., and the easy payment plan to boot so...I guess we got a new .45. !

My Wife immediately loved it and says she wants it for her to carry! She shoots my full size 45's well but wont carry them cause they're too big. Hope she can shoot the 20 oz. .45 as well as the 40 oz. one.

I read something about Republic Arms being out of business now? It only came with two mags and I figure we need at least four for it so the mags can be rotated. Anybody know where to get extra mags for it?

I guess its off to the range with it this weekend (if it dont rain), to see if it feeds and watnot.

ProMag are the "factory" mags.

Cobra Enterprises, Inc bought out Republic Arms tooling and will produce the Patriot as the C45

Hope all this helps,

$220 is a GREAT price! I paid $260 for mine a couple of years ago. Never had a problem with mine with any kind of ammo, and I don't plan on selling it. 1911 mags will also work in this gun. I have an Officer's model and those mags fit in the Patriot almost perfectly. Good luck!

I'd never heard of 'em until today.

But then I saw one on a Handgun Buy/Sell/Trade for trade only. It's an interesting piece, but I'd rather go with a Glock 30. 30+1 rounds of .45? :yep:

Whoa, you must've got the extended Mag!

My Wife only liked it until she shot it once and then hated it. I didn't like it either, too much recoil. I didn't want to have to develop a specialized load for it, I wanted it to be able to shoot my standard reloads. Old thread!
