Which shotgun for turkey?

This is my project.

To make it field ready it needs a full/xtra full choke barrel w/rifle sights. That's a barrel ~$270. But the only such barrel is polished blue. I'd probably have to have it hard chromed, along w/the receiver since that would look so cool. Lesse, the gun was $300, Knoxx stock $135, barrel $270, hard chroming + shipping what, $300?

Or, I should just buy one of these for $523? It's a 870 already set up for turkey.

This would then double as a coyote gun, turkey gun and HD gun.

Are these turkey guns the same quality as the 870 Express HD guns?

Economically I guess I should sell the first and buy the second, but a hard chromed pump w/the Knoxx stock just looks .... cool.

Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't wanna go through all that trouble with ordering and shipping parts for your HD gun. I would just get a gun I can buy and use it just how it is and be satisfied

But the argument can be made that it isn't "trouble" to order the parts and install them...

That is satisfying and personally gratifying to a guy like me...

Not to mention, some of us prefer one gun that is able to be diverse...

And in my case, I am a spartan utilitarian so an extra gun I use very little would never even be considered...

I have an M-500 and I know a new barrel is just a phone call or a few keystrokes from being on the big brown truck...

I'd also consider a 21" turkey barrel. They are already threaded for tubes, are matte finish, but only come with a front bead on a vent rib.

For a dedicated turkey gun, I don't know why more people don't just get a 10ga BPS and be done with it. A 3.5" 10 can run rings around any 12's ballistics... but the few I've shouldered were quite heavy!!

I think you answered, in part, your own question...

I don't see an issue using a 3 inch 20 gauge...
