Surefire High Capacity Magazines

I'm lined up to buy a still in the packaging 60rd Surefire mag for $75. I've been meaning to get my hands on one but just haven't felt like dropping $130 on one. Now that I've found one for cheaper I think I'll give it a shot especially since they're in the spotlight recently being used at the Las Vegas Strip shooting and might go up in price later.

I've heard mixed things on their reliability though. Anyone have any personal experience with these?

Eh...it is a quad stack mag. They work most of the time; but they aren't 3rd gen or PMAG level reliable. If you want 60 rounds, the most reliable solution I've seen is the Magpul drum.

The later models were better.

Got one, it’s great. I want a X-Products X15 too.

The one the guy is selling me has a 11/20/12 date of assembly. Would that make it a 1st or 2nd Gen?

I have a SureFire 60-rounder...and I'm not impressed. It binds up all the time, even with brass ammo. I emailed SureFire and asked them if they can take a look at it. They responded and asked for my info, but I haven't sent it in yet. Still debating about sending it in for them to tweek or just sell it. Sellers market right now for them and I'm much happier with the Magpul 60-rounder.
