I Have A Weakness For Revolvers

There I said it!

I was reorganizing my safe this morning to make some room for my latest revolver and I realized that I have a weakness for wheelguns.

Family portrait:

Left side=Smith and Wessons.
Right side=Colt.
Around the outside=Rugers

Edited to reflect the fact that I can't spell.

I think you've just coined a new term.

Not a weakness, just good taste in guns.

1-old: That is a very nice display. I've never seen anyone with that many handguns. Do you have any semi autos?

Nice herd! You don't have a "weakness" . . . you have an affection . . . recognize it and nourish it! Revolvers are like dogs or fine wine . . . there's always room for more!

Mighty pretty hardware in this thread and I'm not even a "revolver guy" to be sure. I have a comparable amount/diversity of semi's but forgive me not one revolver).

Funny thing is the first handgun I ever shot was my Dad's (RIP) S&W Model 10 service revolver and then his CPD BUG. I never really became a "gun nut" though until after I graduated College (semi 9mm craze had just taken hold) and began to make a few bucks (and I do mean "few" ) that allowed for a reasonable handgun/long-gun collection over the past twenty years.

Long story short, I have always 'browsed' the revolver threads just to maintain a basic knowledge of the industry. But in the last several years I have taken a renewed interests in them (I see them all the time as one of my favorite genres of film are Westerns). Suffice it to say that I will definitively be in contact with Santa about a wheel-gun this Christmas! If I had a "wish-list" for the bearded one I would like to have either a classic Colt Python or a S&W 29 (or 686 or....).

-Happy Holidays

Here are a few of them - these pics include very few of the rimfires or double actions...

Consecutively numbered .38-40/.40 S&W convertible Vaqueros. I have a third one, but not consecutive to these two. (edit) All three of these are already in the first picture.

Not really a revolver, but...

While I don't have anything nearly as impressive as the previously shown collections, I too share an affinity for revolvers. Here are some of the wheelguns I've owned over the years:

Webleymkv,

Just curious, do you still own those beaut's as you say "over the years"... Reason I ask is I have always had a problem getting rid of them . I never thought I would get close to maxing out my safe (yet some of the members here have several so I don't feel too bad)...

If you have an itch for revolvers, by all means scratch it. I do.

No, of the ones pictured I only still own the S&W M28 and M66. The Redhawk and the S&W M21 were both sold and replaced with a S&W 629-6 (though the Redhawk is still in the family as I sold it to my younger brother). The Colt Cobra was also sold to a lady acquaintence who was moving to another state by herself and needed a handgun for personal protection. I do, however, own a few more revolvers which I've never gotten around to taking pictures of including the aforementioned 629, a S&W M36, Webley Mk. IV, and H&R Model 999 Sportsman. I've also previously owned a Taurus 445 snub but never bothered to take a picture of it. I sometimes regret selling the S&W M21 and the Colt Cobra, but I've never really missed the Taurus or the Ruger all that much (of course I can still shoot the Ruger occasionally).

I don't. I would feel strange knowing I have more guns than I can thoroughly get to know in my entire lifetime! I prefer to have intimate knowledge of a more moderate arsenal. But to each his own!
