Bolsonaro hasn't taken office yet, so we'll have to wait and see how (or if) this actually pans out. So far, we have only campaign statements and tweets on the matter.
As it stands right now, Brazil has registration of all guns. Owners need to provide a reason (self-defense is not considered a valid one) for having a gun, and the the police have wide latitude in confiscating weapons at will. It's estimated that ~8 million unregistered guns are in circulation.
