38 special
I recently came into possession of a:
"38 s&w special & Us Service" serial: "531xx" located on bottom of the grip Looks old like 1920s. Only marking are those in quotes that I can tell. Any ideas of what this is and about how old? I know value is subjective |

Could someone please lookup K-22 K607xxx. Belonged to my great grandfater, but he probably purchased later in his life. I think mid 50's?
Thanks for the help, Ryan |

I have a K-22 SN K129XX top and a K-38 SN K260XX bottom purchased by my dad new for $65.00 each in 1948. Both guns are five screw models with the single line "MADE IN U.S.A." stamped on the right side of the frame. I believe they are both of post war manufacture either 1947 or 1948. Can anyone provide the exact year of manufacture? Thanks.

442-2 No Lock
Howdy,
Great thread and very imformative. I didn't go through all 107 pages of this thread, but I do have a question on the approximate date of manufacture of a S&W 442-2 No-Lock that I just purchased new from a dealer who told me it was a new production piece. But, while looking through the various forums on the web I now wonder about it's actual age. The S/N is CNL4XXX. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don |
